The need for cursive handwriting is a constant argument between differing factions of educators.  Those who need to maximize instructional time in order to ensure that students have mastered all of the mandated goals, and those who believe that handwriting instruction and mastery are keys to success in other areas as well.  This page will offer research on the topic of cursive instruction within the elementary classroom.  Both sides of the argument will be presented.  Simply click on the links.  Let’s be fair and evaluate both sides of the argument in order to have a full pictures of our students’ needs.
